Pray for joy in suffering
As an Anglican mission agency in Ireland over the last few years we have experienced considerable challenges. We are assured however that none of these are outside of our Heavenly Father’s planning. We remain convinced that we have a great opportunity to reach the island of Ireland with the gospel. This is our single priority today and we are so thankful for your continued partnership in this.
Please praise God with us for the churches He has established and grown over the last number of years. Despite the pandemic, He has sustained and even increased them and we are so thankful for His enabling.
Among other challenges, liberals within in the Church of Ireland have criticised and actively sought to restrict our efforts at reaching out with the gospel. Pray for evangelical bishops and leaders to see this, even among their peers, and to oppose it regardless of the cost. Pray for substantial public encouragement and support for our work, especially from those in high office. Praise God for the opportunity to learn in a small way what suffering for the gospel means in Ireland, and even in the Church of Ireland today and ask that it would not dampen but fuel our fire to continue joyfully preaching the gospel.
Pray for the trustees as they seek to wisely and yet boldly move the aims of Irish Church Missions forward. There is an increasing need to have a highly skilled, diverse and engaged board. Praise God for those who have served so well for so long and pray for new trustees who are moved by God to advance the cause of the gospel in Ireland today through our efforts.
